Information for Overseas Students
Accommodation
Brightwood School provides a number of accommodation options for students arriving from overseas. In all cases, we provide secure, clean and comfortable accommodation located in the vicinity of the school. The quality of accommodation is monitored to ensure that high standards are maintained at all times. The options include:
Hotel accommodation in 3-star hotel (for students over 18 years of age only)
- Single or twin-sharing
- Prices start at approx. US$300/wk for room/breakfast
Hotel accommodation in 4-star hotel (for students over 18 years of age only)
- Single or twin-sharing
- Prices start at approx. US$500/wk for room/breakfast
Serviced apartments suitable for 2, 4 or 6 students (for students of all ages)
- Twin-sharing
- Students under the age of 18 will be supervised by an adult living on the premises
- Prices start at approx. US$350/wk for room/breakfast
Transportation will be provided to and from the airport and between the school and the students' accommodation.
Important Note regarding accommodation prices:
All accommodation is provided by 3rd party suppliers and is subject to ongoing quality controls to ensure that our quality standards are maintained at all times. Brightwood School does not set the prices, however, and while we strive to maintain updated prices in this website, they may change from time to time and are subject to reconfirmation at the time of booking.
Insurance
All students are strongly advised to take out comprehensive travel and health insurance to cover the duration of their stay. The school has tie-up agreements with local hospitals should there be any necessity for medical attention for any students.
All students and/or their parents or guardians should advise the school on the student enrolment form if they have any specific medical condition that may require treatment, such as allergies, reactions to specific medicines, or if they are currently taking any medication.
Transportation to the Philippines
Students are responsible for the purchase of their airline tickets to and from the Philippines. Philippine Airlines flies daily from and to many major cities in the region. Other reputable airlines with regular service to and from Manila include Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Japan Airlines, Thai Airways and others.
Transportation in the Philippines
Arriving students will be met at the Manila International Airport by our shuttle bus. The bus will be available during their entire stay to transport students between the school and their chosen accommodation, to any other venues which may be included in the course schedule, then returning them to the airport at the end of their stay.
Vacation Packages
Students over the age of 18 may wish to combine their course with a vacation in one of the many destinations in the Philippines. Options include Study + Beach/Diving, Study + Golf, Study + Mountains. We will gladly be of assistance in recommending and booking an appropriate vacation extension.
Visas
Arriving students can obtain a visa without charge on arrival at the airport which will be valid for 21 days. For stays longer than 21 days, the school will process visa extensions after the students have arrived. The cost of each extension per student is approx. USD80-USD100.
